TIGR2ESS: Transforming India's Green Revolution by Research and Empowerment for Sustainable food Supplies

A Global Challenges Research Fund project

We will be running a stall at this year's Festival of Plants at the beautiful Cambridge Botanic Gardens on 18th May, to showcase the ancient grain millets and why it could become a crop to feed millions.

Millets are quick to grow, full of important nutrients and they are a key crop of the semi-arid tropics in Asia and Africa due to their resistance to heat and drought. In the UK, this small, golden, round seed is best known as bird food, but we want to show that it is a very tasty food source for us as well. Could millets be part of the answer to feeding the world in a changing climate? Come along and play our 'Guess the grains' game to find out more.
