TIGR2ESS is funded by the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) Growing Research Capability call. The call was developed to grow research capacity around the globe and to strengthen and broaden skills and expertise to address specific challenges of developing regions and countries.

As part of the programme, TIGR2ESS has a core budget for workshops and academic exchange visits.

  • Environmental physiology

Activities include:

Academic exchange visits

A series of capacity strengthening academic exchanges will support leading researchers from India and UK to strengthen capacity in key areas of the food system, and enhance ongoing Government initiatives in India and the use of technology for smart agriculture across regional rural communities. Co-investigators and Post-doctoral research associates, both in the UK and in India, can apply for Academic exchange visits.

•  20 six-month India-UK exchanges and 20 one-month UK-India exchanges for the Postdoctoral Research Associates (PDRAs);
•  40 two-week UK and India Principal Investigator exchanges.
