Research
I am a PhD Scholar at Nabakrushna Choudhury Centre for Development Studies (NCDS) in Odisha, and a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at Watershed Support Services and Activities Network (WASSAN) in Hyderabad, India. My research interests lie in the area of Agricultural Economics and Development Economics. My research seeks to: a) estimate growth, instability and decomposition of millets vis-à-vis other major crop groups for India as well as Odisha from 1960-61 to 2019-20; b) arrive at estimates of area, yield, production and value of produce of second year (2018-19) and third year (2019-20) of the Odisha Millets Mission (OMM) intervention from the crop cutting experiments and to make a comparative assessment with the baseline (2016-17); c) study how the four dimensions (production, consumption, processing and marketing) of the OMM are being executed at field level; and d) analyse critically the role and responsibilities of the stakeholders involved in the OMM.
